Also, I had an outdated trial version of MS on my computer - I could view files but not edit them in anyway- that I tried uninstalling to see if that makes a difference, but it didn't. It just made it so that I can't even view the Word files I have. So all Office suites and related Office applications are uninstalled?
Thanks for your feedback. Firstly, I don't even have the version of Office it mentions my version is Secondly, there is no option for "online repair" when I follow the directions laid out in that post, only "repair", which I have tried already with no results.
Since you are running an older version and Office has not seen fit to update itself yet you could update it "manually". If you are lucky you'll get a newer version that addresses your issue. If he cannot run office he cannot update via your instructions. That should update office but as with many other users like me who have been waiting 6 weeks now for a fix, it probably will not solve his problem. Cheng 0. When I clicked on the desktop icon to install activate? I did so through the Control Panel. If I remember correctly, most of the Office suite of applications could live side by side with their Office counterparts although there was really no reason to do so. However, you can only ever have one version of Outlook on any one computer. Perhaps that is the problem with your dual installtion. Was this reply helpful?
